I binge-watched The Boys season 1 with my dad while at home for an extended stay; season 2 drops this Friday. It means a lot to watch TV with my dad – it's always an education. I was home for one night this past weekend and we watched "Genevieve," a hilarious British comedy about a vintage car. There was a race from Westminster Bridge to Brighton and back, picnics, mishaps of all sorts, and herds of sheep crossing the road along the way. Charming! And with a soundtrack by a famous harmonica player, the joy of home matinee was complete.
The Boys is unusual: superheroes are evil. The Girl, above, never speaks, but fights like a wild animal against the league of evil. There's the everyman protagonist, the toughie boss, and the French crazy guy. And that's just the basic lineup. So, when I'm home next for a few days before year's end, I'll be bingeing it with my dad.
