"It's been a while since I wrote you because there's been an election, insurrection, and Amanda Gorman.
I'm alternately typing and prodding my right arm in a mixture of gratitude and location-specific soreness (Pfizer, 1st dose). Many of you are medical professionals, scientists, fellow teachers, and frontline workers; mothers and women holding it all together; and out-of-work artists and musicians going through the emotional and spiritual trenches. I see you and I am grateful.
If you'd like to hang out, in a group setting online, for about an hour really soon, to decompress and listen to what many people have told me is a calming voice: I'm presenting new music, playing with practical exercises to tease out creativity, and answering audience questions via Zoom on Saturday February 6th, 2021 at 2PM ET (very soon, I know). My talk, Staying Power, is one of several on AATE's and the Dramatists Guild Foundation's joint symposium. (Among other marvelous presenters, the keynote speakers are Caleen Sinnette Jennings and 3-time Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang!)"
